10 pounds...

Our little guy is just at the 10 pounds marker and keeping us on our toes! He had adjusted to being home incredibly well and just really loves checking everything out! He is smiling quite a bit and lets out some coo's when we talk to him. It is pretty cute. He is officially at the sitter during the day. We have been blessed with a wonderful in home sitter who loves him so much and takes great care of him like he is her own. I was home the month of February and loved, loved, loved it but now it is back to reality I guess. Thank goodness for vacation time! We went back to the University for his check-up and they were very impressed with Dylan. He is doing everything they want him to do and more. The doctor said he couldn't look better. The doctor we chose is the one who first took care of Dylan the night he was transferred to the University, he is a wonderful doctor and can definetly appreciate what Dylan has been thru. We have had a visiting nurse come, when we first came home it was 3 times per week, now it is every other week, she is great too! She weighs him and listens to his lungs and takes his temp, things like that. They like him to grow about 1/2 to 1 ounce per day and he is definetly doing that! He has his 6 month shots on Friday, poor little guy, and an eye exam on Monday at the University. He is also getting his vocal chords tested on Monday, this is something they like to do and forgot to do before he came home. The put a scop down either his nose or throat, it isn't too painful and is fairly quick, this will just see if they have been strained at all. So that is about it, baby is adjusting great to being home. His puppy loves him and has calmed down a lot, believe it or not. So she knows that someone new is in town. We have her in the basement most of the time but let her upstairs a couple hours each day. Daddy is getting very good at changing diapers and all of the baby chores and doing a great job! So Dylan is just a thriving little guy who is growing every minute it seems like. We love having him home and know he loves it too! He is a fisty one and lets us know when he isn't comfortable. He is on oxygen but that really isn't a big deal at all. We are totally use to it and he tolerates it well. At the University he actually passed his room air test without the oxygen but they decided to keep him on it for another 3 months or so to help him grow. This way he is using his calories to grow and not as many to breathe. But he is on minimal settings and doing great!! So baby has adjusted, mommy and daddy love it and that is about it. I will try and post sooner than later! We love you Dylan!~
