Our little man is 2 today! And he definetly is starting to act like a little spit fire little boy. Dylan is just everywhere and into everything. He listens pretty well but like with all kids, there are definetly days where he is just sassy! Dylan's new love is 'puppy', he lives for the puppy I think. It is the first thing he says every morning. This morning I woke him up and took him to the kitchen to show him all his presents and he smiled and said 'puppy'! It was pretty cute. His aunt Ellie got him a life size puppy stuffed animal that is sooo soft. It is adorable and he LOVES it.
We took Dylan for an eye followup appt last week. His eyes are doing great. Unchanged from his last appt in February. He is still a bit near sided, but not enough where they would put him in glasses. It is very encouraging that his eyes are unchanged and not worse. Dylan is running all over the place and playing very well with his toys. We took him last week also for his developmental followup since we have agreed for Dylan to take part in the 'Vermont' study for preemie babies. His followup went great. There are a few things that we need to introduce to him that they tested him on but since we have not introduced these things to him he was not very interested. Such as coloring on paper, feeding a baby doll, stacking blocks, jumping off the bottom step and a few other things. Don't get me wrong, jumping off the bottom step is NOT something we condone, but unfortunately he was tested on it. Very interesting to us.....
The biggest news is that Dylan is now in a big boy bed and has been for a month now and doing great!!!! We got him a regular twin sized bed, not a toddler bed. He is doing good. If he isn't asleep when we put him in bed, he quietly plays in his room until he falls asleep. He is also very good in the morning, he will play in his room and talk to himself for awhile before he starts banging on the door. When we hear the banging we know he is ready to come out and play! But the crib to big boy bed was thankfully a pretty easy transition for Dylan.
So here are some pics of the birthday boy!!! Dylan has seen Danielle 3 times now and each time is a little more curious. Mostly when she moves and squeaks, we can't wait to have her home with Dylan. He is getting so big, 23 pounds now and over 33 inches long! For sure he is a little man and we are loving every minute watching him thrive and grow up. Thank you God for our little miracle Dylan.~
