Enrichment Class 2011/2012
1st Day of School
Last day of school May 25, 2012
Dylan's favorite thing about the school year...'playing soccer with all of his friends during free time.'
What does Dylan want to be when he gets older...'Dylan wants to go to Kindergarten.'
Mrs. Miller & Mrs. Kray = The BEST teachers EVER!!!!
One of the things that the teachers told us parents at the ceremony, amongst the tears, was that this is the first class that they can remember that every single one of the children are MORE than ready for Kindergarten. They thanked us parents for the gift of our children, we thank them for teaching our children and helping them grow!
Dylan has grown SO much this school year in more ways than one. Here are a few examples.....Brad and I both love the examples they showed us at conference time. We really saw the progress Dylan was making and it was truly amazing. We thought as he was starting Enrichment that he already knew so much, we were a little ignorant thinking that because there was SO much more that he learned thru the school year. His drawing and handwriting skills being a huge one, not to mention sequencing, foreign language skills etc. We love looking at these few things and seeing how he truly evolved during the school year. No doubt we made such a great decision sending him to Enrichment this year.
In September you can see that he didn't really know where to start when drawing himself, he started the two legs and the yellow is the head but they aren't connected. Then in January you can see that the person came together with a full body, hands, feet, eyes and a mouth! When writing his name in September he drew two circles then finished by tracing over where the teacher wrote his name in yellow marker. In November he was able to complete all letters but needed to follow the name card and sizing was an issue. In February he did not need any instruction and all of the letters are in sequence and size appropriate!!
ENRICHMENT 2012 RULES!
We are very much encouraged at the skills that Dylan continues to show us on a daily basis. We love listening to him and watching him in pretend play, drawing every second he has the chance and telling us about how certain dreams danced in his head during the night. What a fun journey we are on! We are so proud of you Dylan and can't wait to see you continue to evolve thru each and every year! Welcome to the Summer before Kindergarten little buddy!!!!~
