9 months old...

Our precious boy is turning into a little man! So much is changing with Dylan it is hard to tell you everything. Most important is that he is doing great! He is weighing over 15 pounds now and over 24 inches long. He is now eating rice cereal one time per day and loving it! We started this last weekend and he took to it right away. We got some very cute videos of his first spoon full. But he has to have his hand on the spoon and helping mommy all of the time. It is pretty fun. Recently he has started to say what we think may be his first "word " if you call it that I guess. Since he has been home every time we feed him we say "ba, ba" for bottle. Well he seemed to have caught on. Now when he is hungry we often hear him saying ba, ba, the past two mornings when he wakes up we can hear him over the baby monitor saying, ba, ba. It is adorable. We are thinking more and more that he is certain when he says this he knows he will get fed. It is so fun to have him interact more and more with us every day.
Last week we went for our follow-up at the University. At this appt they did the oxygen testing and Dylan did great. He went 25 minutes off the oxygen and he was in the 95-96 range all of the time except when she was really testing him developmentally then one time he droped to 88 but right after that he went back up to the mid 90 range which is where they want him to be! So we are very excited, our next apt in August we will take him off the oxygen completely 3 hours before the apt, they will then test his blood oxygen level when we get there and as long as it is okay then we can get rid of the oxygen completely!! We are praying like crazy for this day! They did discontinue his apnea monitor which we were very happy about also. So we just crank up the volume on the baby monitor at night so we can listen to him breathe so we know everything is okay. We finally got over the 3 week string of double ear infections. He does though wheeze quite a bit when he is out in the humidity for a period of time such as 1/2 hour, that is all it takes. The docs say this is typical of these preemie babies so we give him breathing treatments about 1 time per day or when he needs it. We are living by our airconditioning at home for our boy. He is now rolling over most of the time, usually though only if we are on the floor with him. But we do wake up to him in the mid morning in a completely different direction in his crib then when he went to sleep. That was pretty scarey the first time that happened. We didn't know what to do, Brad called me in and said "honey come quick and look at this, he did a complete 180!!" So Dylan is just doing great, we couldn't ask for anything more. We just look at each other every day and smile because of our little miracle and how far he has come. We are excited to have daddy celebrate his first Father's Day this weekend. I know Mother's day had a whole new meaning for me and I am sure that it will for Brad as well. I will post pics this week because you won't believe how much this little guy has changed! We are truely blessed...~
