Vacation time....

We just returned from the most relaxing vacation that we all needed! Scottsdale Arizona was the destination, and the kids loved it! I took the kids out there for almost a week to meet their Grammy for some fun in the sun. We really really missed daddy but are looking to our next vacation that he will be with us on in the next few months.

Our suite had this huge whirlpool tub that we ALL loved!

Dylan loved looking at the Aquarium in the Golf Restaurant.

We kept telling Dylan that he was going to fly in the sky with mommy, his response was always 'YEESS'! He loves the sky and the stars so that was our way of explaining to him a bit about what we were going to do. It sure was a LOT of work for mommy to travel alone on a plane for 3 hours with 2 kids under the age of 3, but it was well worth it. Dylan was quite the stinker in the airport and getting onto the plane departing CR, I was really hoping that that was not the beginning of our adventure, him being naughty! As soon as we got to Arizona, Grammy was waiting for us at the Gate and everything was good! Dylan was such an angel all week long, he did not act up, we tried to keep his routine so he got a good nap late morning before we started our daily activities and he was in bed at a decent time. Mommy never had to raise her voice at all, he could not have been a better little boy. It was very very nice to be able to spend quality time with my mom and have our kids there too. Mommy has not been able to spend one on one time with the kids since Danielle came home from the hospital, it was long over-due and much appreciated! Thank You Daddy for supporting us on this trip! Another great thing is the dry heat that Arizona offers, Dylan was just getting over Bronchitis and the dry heat was a blessing, as the humidity here, as low as it may be right now, still really gets into his little lungs and irritates them. This was the much needed break and Vitamin D we ALL needed!

The plane ride there was a little rough, leaving daddy and waking up on the plane and not being able to get comfortable were hard for the little guy. But once we arrived in Arizona I think Dylan realized that we were in a whole new place! He kept saying that he wanted to go for a ride and he wanted to go 'bye bye', I kept telling him that we were 'bye bye' a long ways from home, he would just smile and say 'OK'. His responses are classic these days!
We did all kinds of fun things. We stayed at a beautiful Golf Resort in Scottsdale. On Sunday we ventured to a new zoo, we had already been to the Phoenix Zoo so this time we went to the Wildlife World Zoo & Aquarium, the temps were mid 80's this day with a slight breeze, perfect! We saw all kinds of neat fish in the Aquarium, had lunch at the Cafe and toured around all of the BIG animals also. We saw Zebra's, Tigers, Kangaroo's, Giraffe's and even got to be where you can feed them! The Zoo also had a super fun play ground and Dylan loved the big slides. There was a Log Ride and it even took you thru the Aquarium on the ride, very neat! The Zoo had a train that took you around the park, Australian Boat Ride that took you thru the Australian animals and a lift that took you over the whole zoo, very neat, it was a nice relaxing, fun filled day for the Holub Kids!

We spent a lot of time around the pool. Dylan LOVES the water and Aqua Tots has really gotten him even more into it. Every morning he would wake up and ask to go for a walk, so we would, then he would take a nap and wake up and ask to go 'swimmin', as he says. It was so much fun to be able to have pool time with Dylan since Daddy has been having pool time during Aqua Tots. I think by the pics you can see how much Dylan loved the water, and he even kept his sunglasses on!! The sun is so powerful there and hard on his little eyes, but he loved the sunglasses, I think he knew how much they really helped him!

But here on the plane ride home, Dylan was an angel sleeping from almost the minute we got into the air in Arizona and Mommy woke him up when we were landing in CR over 2 1/2 hours later! He was pooped from an eventful week with Danielle, Mommy & Grammy!

We had a really fun time, we went to a super neat Toy Store and each of the kids got some fun new toys. The BEST thing about this toy store is that they had a whole section of 'Eco' Toys, toys made in the USA out of ALL Recyclable Materials. I will post pics soon of his new Eco Buggy, he loves it and it is great to know that something fun is made out of Recyclable Materials. Next trip to Scottsdale, this toy store will be a 'must' on the list of things to do!

There sure isn't anything more rewarding to see the face of your kids light up when we do something new, fun and exciting. I love that we had this opportunity to take a nice relaxing vacation, Dylan's 2ND trip to Arizona. We look forward to many more fun vacations, as a family. We thank the lord for all of the wonderful gifts he has given to us, the gift of togetherness is definitely the most rewarding!
