They even let him be the designated 'spinner' for their crazy game of Twister! He thought that was a pretty cool deal.
2009 was a good year for our family, but we are hoping and praying that 2010 is an excellent year for our family!
2009 brought many fun things for Dylan and wow has he really learned a lot this year. He started the year talking a bit and just starting to count, in Feb. he would count 1.2 and sometimes 3. Now he counts all the way up to 17 not missing a beat and tries to go higher missing a few numbers here and there. He is learning SO much! March brought Daddy and Dylan's first session with Aqua Tots and it was a HIT! Dylan was not afraid to dunk his head under the water, he needed to work on learning to hold his breath, but every Sunday Daddy and Dylan really looked forward to fun in the pool! The beginning of May, mommy took the kids on a trip to Arizona to meet Grammie! We had such a fun time and really enjoyed the nice warm weather and Dylan loved pool time as well. We had such a great trip with Grammie! Also in May Dylan had his first hernia surgery to 'repair' the hernia in his tummy. The surgery didn't go as planned because mommy noticed the hernia right after surgery. Bummer deal, they didn't get it taken care of. Daddy built the kids a fun swing set for them in the backyard, such a fun zone for the kids! Memorial Day we took the kids to Grand Harbor in Dubuque for a weekend of fun and waterslides. June found us on another airplane ride to visit Grammie and Great Grandpa and our family in PA. It was quite the experience for mommy to once again fly alone with both kids and have a connecting flight! We made it and had an excellent time. Dylan met a few of his cousins for the first time and they had so much fun playing together! We also celebrated Danielle's 1st birthday at the end of June and Grandma Holub's 80th birthday, June was a month full of celebration! August was a month for traveling. We met our dear friends the LeConte's in Madison for a weekend of fun! We also surprised Daddy with a trip to Chicago to all of our first Bear's game! These trips were both SO memorable and we sure have lots of fun story's to tell! September found us in Des Moines with Aunt Ellie and the Aarhus for our Labor Day getaway! We also celebrated Dylan's 3rd birthday this month and this was huge because Dylan got totally discharged from UIHC NICU follow-up! This was very exciting. We also celebrated our dear friend Lila's baptism this month, the kids loved being their for Lila's special day! October was fun, Cassie and Cody took Dylan to his first 'live show', Curious George Live. He still talks about how much fun it was to this day! Dylan also had another hernia surgery this month, but they are thinking they got it taken care of this time. Fingers crossed! We also did some fun trick or treating with Dylan as our little dinosaur! November brought a wonderful Thanksgiving and a super fun Polar Express train ride in Boone. December was cold and snowy and we decided to take our first family Christmas Vacation to Arizona! We packed up and headed to the desert west for Christmas. We had such an excellent time in the sun and warm temps, we are looking forward to another Christmas vacation in the years ahead!
2009 was good, 2010 we hope is even better! We are praying for lots of love, health and happiness for our family. We love you Dylan and we can't wait to see all of the fun things you will be learning in 2010, including starting pre-school!
Happy New Year little buddy!~
