Birthdays, Father's Day, Happy 4th of July & more....

Dylan has been a busy little man these past few weeks...

We had a lovely father's day with Brad. The kids each got daddy their own card for him, unique to them. Daddy loved them and the gifts too. Dylan loved sitting on daddy's new game and trying to move the BIG box around the living room and carrying it around. Mommy & the kids made daddy breakfast in bed. Daddy slept in and we were able to get the breakfast done right when he woke up, it was perfect timing. I don't know how he slept thru the bacon cooking, that smell is yummy!

That afternoon we went to Prairieburg to celebrate Great Grandma Holub's 80Th birthday. It was a fun afternoon to celebrate with family. Dylan loved playing with his cousins & throwing & chasing after the ball. He is easy to entertain! Danielle had her 1 year pictures that afternoon so Daddy & Dylan went home and had some fun play time while Mommy & Danielle got the pictures done. It was a great Father's Day, Happy Father's Day Honey & Daddy, WE LOVE YOU! Thank you for all you do for our family~

Then we had Danielle's wonderful 1st birthday celebration last weekend. Dylan was a trooper. We didn't know how he would handle the baby getting a lot of gifts and attention that day. But Dylan was definitely not left out at all. Great Grandma Holub brought Dylan a super fun counting ball. It was right up Dylan's alley. Aunt Ellie also brought Dylan a fun ball to play with and so did cousins Kim, Kris, Collin & Morgan. Then Grandpa Kinney brought Dylan his first Golf set, we knew that was coming ;) Dylan loved it. We were a little worried that he would want to whack things with the golf club, but he is gentile with it. He does a good job and even knows how to hold the club, it is pretty cute, we hopefully will have a little golfer on our hands!

When we were getting the cake ready we again didn't know what Dylan would do. Well since Danielle only had a few bits of frosting, Dylan was able to finish off her little cake! He was SO tired by this point that it was funny watching him barely keeping his eyes open but still determined to DIG IN!
When it was time to open the gifts Dylan sat on top of the big box as to say ' I am the KING!' He wanted to make sure those presents weren't going anywhere. Dylan helped open all of the gifts, the clothes she got he would say, 'cute clothes' and the toys he would say 'baby's toys'. He definitely knew who they were for, that was the most precious part. He wasn't jealous at all, what a good boy!

Dylan had a great time playing with the kids and he loved the attention he got from the girls! It was fun to have him join in on the Celebration for Danielle's 1st birthday, his was very memorable and Danielle's was also.

Happy 4Th of July!

It is so hard to believe that this date is already here. This summer is going by SO fast! We were to be in Chicago this weekend but at the last minute decided to change our plans. We thought with the big crowds on such a busy weekend that it probably wouldn't have been the best for the kids, plus the forecast didn't show the weather being that great. So we decided to do the Water park and BBQ instead. Friday the kids got to hang out at home with mom & dad both. It is always to have a nice long weekend, spent together as a family!! It doesn't come too often where we all get an extra day! Daddy & Dylan had some snuggle time Friday morning, watching Mickey Mouse Club House in mommy & daddy's bed. That afternoon Dylan & Daddy had play time with the boy toys downstairs. Dylan loves to go down there and play 'games' with daddy, as he calls it! Dylan even got reaquainted with daddy's deer!

Saturday we didn't quite make it to the Water Park as it rained 3/4 of the day but we still had our afternoon/evening BBQ with some great friends! Mike, Kirsten and baby Lila, Monica and Brandon & Racquel & Scott came over for some BBQ and R&R! The mommy's and kids and girls had some time to catch up and the daddy's and guys did their own version of 'catching up' also! It was a great evening with a lot of laughs and memorable stories! Dylan conked out, it was a little rough for him to go to bed with a house full of people, so mommy let him snuggle for a bit longer on the couch. On his way back to bed he said to the girls, 'night girls', it was SO cute, I think the girls got a kick out of it too! He is such a personable little man.

Sunday we had a great day. It was beautiful outside and we ventured to the Park for a picnic lunch. We also took Dylan to play on the huge assortment of slides and activities, Dylan LOVED it! He went down each slide many many times. It was fun to watch him. Danielle took a nice little snooze. There were a few people flying kites at the park, it was awesome to see as mommy spent many summer days during her childhood on 29Th street flying kites also!

We then went home and sat outside and had Popsicles! It was a fun finish to such a beautiful afternoon. The kids were pretty much pooped out at this point. It was then bath time, supper & bed! We sure had a great weekend together, with great company. Happy 4Th of July Dylan!
Dylan is getting smarter and smarter every day. He is constantly doing and saying something new every day. It is really fun watching him learn new things and his imagination really comes to life! He disciplines his toys now, occasionally puts them in 'time out', it cracks us up! He is counting to 13, he knows and can identify every letter of his first name as well as almost 3/4 of the letter of the alphabet. It is amazing, we tell him 'Dylan you are so smart' and he said 'I'm smart'. It is hilarious. Dylan likes to have conversations on the phone, he will pick up the phone and say 'call daddy' during the week when we get home and Brad is still working, or 'call Grammy' and he wants to call and talk to her and have a pretty decent conversation. He is at such a fun age, he sure comes up with new things every day. It is amazing how much kids can pick up in no time at this age. We sure are having fun with the kids, learning & growing every single day!~
